SERP Action - Reaffirmation of Negative Declaration

Orange County - Pursuant to the NYS Clean Water/Drinking Water State Revolving Fund and the State Environmental Quality Review Act, DWSRF Project # 16752, the Kiryas Joel Board of Trustees, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Village of Kiryas Joel Water Project will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves Construction of New Groundwater Source to help meet the needs for potable drinking water supply for the Village. Three separate Village owned properties are located outside the Village near the Mountain Lakes and Ramapo River, on Seven Springs Road and on County Route 105.

Positive Declaration

Orange County - The Town of Wallkill Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Wal-Mart Distribution Center may have a significant adverse environmental impact and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. The action involves the following components: 1) construction of Regional Distribution Center: A 1.2 million square foot regional distribution center would be constructed on an approximately 327 acre parcel located in the Town of Wallkill. 2) The construction of a new water district to supply water to the Distribution Center and other properties. 3) The creation of a new sewer district to service the Distribution Center and other properties in the vicinity. The project is located along State Route 17K and is bounded on the west by US Route 17 in the Town of Wallkill.

Positive Declaration and Public Scoping Session

Westchester County - The Town of Cortlandt Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Furnace Dock Inc. may have a significant adverse environmental impact and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. A public scoping session will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2002 at 8:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as possible in the Vincent F. Nyberg General Meeting Room at the Cortlandt Town Hall, 1 Heady Street, Cortlandt Manor, New York. Written comments on the Draft Scope will be accepted by the Planning Board until October 1, 2002. The action proposes to construct on the subject property 2,500 feet of roads, 26 single family homes and related site improvements such as sewer and water mains, driveways, etc. The subject property of 42.43 acres is located on the north side of Furnace Dock Road, 1,500 feet east of Albany Post Road, Town of Cortlandt.
