Project Description:
The applicant proposes to
restore a tidal wetland by removing concrete rubble, debris and
undesirable materials along the shoreline and placing suitable substrate in these areas.
The project also involves removing undesirable vegetation (phragmites) and revegetating
disturbed areas with salt tolerant wetland species, and rehabilitation of an existing
stormwater outfall. Some grading and excavation will occur in the tidal wetlands and
below apparent high water. The project is located within the Bar Beach Park at West
Shore Road, Port Washington, Town of North Hempstead, Nassau County.
