Project Description:
The applicant is seeking
a modification of their existing SPDES permit by adding two
additional outfalls (Out falls 011 and 012). The two new outfalls are associated with
secondary containment structures for two unit transformers at the newly constructed
Glenwood Landing Energy Center. Stormwater will be discharged through the two new
outfalls once per month, with an average total discharge volume of 1200 gallons. The
discharge will be to groundwater.
The Department has made
a tentative determination to approve this modification. This
tentative determination indicates that the discharge regulated under this statute is
considered to satisfy regulatory standards for permit issuance, based on information
available to the Department at this time.
The facility is located
off Shore Road.

Project Description:
The applicant proposes to
reconstruct 100 feet of bulkhead within 22 inches of the
existing bulkhead, with a portion of the bulkhead to be replaced 3 feet higher in elevation
than the existing bulkhead, and a portion to be replaced 18 inches higher in elevation. The
applicant also proposes to construct two 2 foot returns, dredge a 10 foot by 100 foot area
immediately seaward of the bulkhead, place 25 cubic yards dredge material between the
bulkheads as backfill and reconstruct an existing boardwalk. Placement of fill behind the
new bulkhead which will be located seaward of apparent high water will result in the loss
of approximately 183 square feet of tidal wetlands known as littoral zone (SM/LZ). The
project is located at 30 Sylark Road, Massapequa Park, Town of Oyster Bay, Nassau
County, NCTM# Section 65, Block 265, Lot 8.
