Negative Declaration

Clinton County - The Town of Chazy, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Water District No. 1 Expansion will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the expansion of the Town of Chazy’s existing Water District No. 1. This would include the installation of 3,400 lineal feet of 8 inch water mains, 1,600 lineal feet of 3/4 inch copper service laterals, water meters, and fire hydrants. This project would provide a safe quantity and quality source of potable water to 16 residential users. The project is located along County Route 191, Hamlet of Chazy, Town of Chazy.

Warren County - The Town of Horicon, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Amendment of Zoning and Project Review Local Law and Subdivision Regulations will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves adoption of comprehensive amendments of the Town's Zoning and Project Review Local Law and Subdivision Regulations which generally pertain to strengthening or clarifying the procedures for review of new development. The project is located townwide.

Notice Of Acceptance Of Draft EIS and Public Hearing

Essex County - The Olympic Regional Development Authority, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Whiteface Mountain Ski Center Unit Management Plan Update. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on September 12, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. at the Whitefact Mountain Base Lodge. Written comments will be accepted by the contact person until September 23, 2002. The action invoves the continuation of management actions approved in the 1996 UMP, in addition to proposed management actions including construction of a lodge at the summit of the Cloudsplitter Gondola, upgrading the snowmaking system capacity, widening of some trails and ski lift work. The project is located on Route 86 in the Town of Wilmington.

Notice Of Acceptance Of Generic Draft EIS and Public Hearing

Warren And Washington Counties - The Lake George Park Commission, as lead agency, has accepted a Generic Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Lake George Deltas Sediment Management/Shoreline Restoration Project. A public hearing on the Generic Draft EIS will be held on September 23, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at Canoe Island Lodge, Diamond Point, Town of Bolton. Comments will be accepted until December 23, 2002. The action involves remediation of tributary brook deltas that have formed along the shoreline in Lake George due to excessive sedimentation caused by upland development, highway sand spreading, land clearing and logging and other human causes. In general the project can be summarized as consisting of removal of uncontaminated sediments in the upper portion of the deltas, from the shoreline outward to a maximum water depth of two meters, for restoration of navigability to pre-existing conditions. For purposes of this DGEIS, the Project is characterized by conceptual delta management plans concurrently developed for seven existing tributary brook deltas presently identified for remediation. Seven existing tributaries of Lake George have been identified for remediation:
