Reaffirmation of Negative Declaration

Erie County - The Town Board of the Town of Grand Island, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The proposed improvements at the WWTP include the replacement of two sewage grinders in the influent channel, the installation of a new Pista Swirl Concentrator at the Grit Chamber, the replacement and upgrading of three (3) Return Activated Sludge Pumps along with related piping to implement BMP’s for wet weather flows, the replacement of two (2) WasteSludge Pumps with related piping, and the installation of an emergency generator at the Baseline Master Lift Station. The project is located at 3500 Baseline Road, Grand Island.

Erie County - The Town of Lancaster, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed LaFarge Genesee - Concrete Plant Site Plan will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the development of a parcel involving approximately three acres. The project is located at 6125 Genesee Street, Lancaster.

Positive Declaration

Erie County - The Town of Amherst Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Hedstrom Manor Townhouse Development will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The Project involves the development of eleven (11) two-story townhouse units, with garages, in six (6) buildings on 2.56± acres of land. The site is currently occupied by the Hedstrom Mansion, an historic structure which contains apartment units (the property does not have historic landmark status at local, state or national levels). The proposed development includes associated parking, driveways, circulation road and all public utilities. Access to the site is proposed via the existing driveway on Getzville Road. Scoping will be undertaken for this project, and interested residents will be invited to comment on the draft Scoping document by mailing comments to the Planning Department. The draft Scope is available from the Planing Department at the stated address.

Notice of Acceptance of Final Supplemental EIS

Erie County - The Town of Amherst Town Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Supplemental EIS on the proposed Canterbury Woods Phase II. The action involves the modification of conditions of the 1995 rezoning and the Certification of Findings (dated February 3, 1997) for the Canterbury Woods development which pertain to:

Areas of potential environmental impact include aesthetic resources, drainage, open space, and growth and character of the neighborhood. The petitioner is the Episcopal Church Home & Affiliates Life Care Community, Inc. The project is located at 705 Renaissance Drive, Amherst.
