Article 19 Air State Facility |
|
| Project is Located: | Oyster Bay, Nassau County | |
|
Project Description: The New York State Department
of Environmental Conservation has made a tentative
determination to approve
an application for Article 19 (Air Pollution Control) of the
Environmental Conservation Law (ECL) filed by C W Post Campus of LIU and has
prepared a
Draft State Facility Permit.
C W Post Campus operates two 40 mmBtu/hr boilers located
in
the central heating plant.
The applicant is seeking to cap the Oxides of Nitrogen, NOx, to
less
than 22.5 tons per year
through restrictions on the facility's fuel usage. This capping
condition will keep the facility below major stationary source thresholds. The draft permit
restricts the fuel usage and requires record maintenance to demonstrate compliance that
must be kept on site for at least 5 years. By accepting these State and Federally
enforceable conditions in the permit, the permittee agrees that it will comply with the
facility fuel use restriction described above, the general conditions in the permit, all
applicable regulations and the ECL.
The application and the
draft permit are available for review at the Region 1 office in
Stony Brook.
