Negative Declaration

Chautauqua County - The Town of Chautauqua, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Chautauqua Erie Development Corp. will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the construction of four multiple family dwellings with four units each; one office building with two additional residential units; a swimming pool; and parking areas. The project is located at 4793 West Lake Road, Mayville, Town of Chautauqua.

Erie County - The Town of Amherst Town Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Application of Bacillus spaericus for Mosquito Control will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The Project involves the application of the microbial biological pesticide Bacillus sphaericus to freshwater wetlands and to other surface water in the Town of Amherst for the control of mosquito larvae. (Negative Declaration for use of this pesticide throughout Erie County was previously issued by the Erie County Health Department on May 1, 2001.) The project is located in the entire Town of Amherst.

Erie County - The Town of Amherst Town Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Rezoning of 37 parcels from SA and R-3 to R-2 (Muegel Rd. & Paradise Rd.) will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The Project involves the rezoning of 45.4± acres of land (37 parcels) located on the north and south sides of Muegel Road between Paradise and Transit Roads; and on the east side of Paradise Road between Muegel Road and the former Lehigh Valley Railroad ROW from Suburban-Agriculture (SA) and Residential District – Three (R-3) to Residential District – Two (R-2). The purpose of the rezoning is to eliminate the non-conformity of the existing SA-zoned parcels which requires a minimum 1 acre lot per dwelling unit. The petitioner is the Town of Amherst. The project is located at 20-420 Muegel Rd. & 601-675 Paradise Rd., Amherst.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft Generic EIS

Erie County – The City of Tonawanda, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Generic Environmental Impact Statement for a Citywide Comprehensive Plan. The City accepted the Comprehensive Plan as complete on May 25, 2002 and a 30-day public comment period followed with no comments received by the City Clerk as of the June 20, 2002 closing date. A public hearing was conducted during the comment period on June 4, 2002 as advertised in the local Tonawanda newspaper and the City of Tonawanda’s Web Site. No comments were expressed at the Public Hearing pertaining to the Comprehensive Plan. Therefore, the City of Tonawanda is proceeding with the development of a Findings Statement and final adoption of the City of Tonawanda Comprehensive Plan.
