Project Title: Franklin County Highway Department
Location: Franklin County: Town of Harrietstown: Coreys Road/Stony Creek.
Comment Period Ends: August 16, 2002
Project Description: The action involves the replacement of the existing single span wrought iron pony truss bridge over Stony Creek with a single span steel girder bridge constructed with pressure treated wooden abutments. Reconstruction of the bridge will require reconstructing approximately 565.27 feet of the approaches to the bridge 344.4 feet westerly and 220.87 feet easterly). In order to limit the area of disturbance to that which presently exists, rock filled gabion baskets will be used to contain the highway embankment on the northwesterly side of the bridge. The road will be temporarily closed during construction, and the highway area will be used as a work staging area. Waste material generated by the project will be disposed of at a site approved by the Adirondack Park Agency and/or New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. The proposed project will require disturbing approximately 170 square feet of wetland adjacent to the existing bridge abutments.
