Project Description: Reconstruction of approximately
5,500 feet of the Old English Road Ditch. An
approximately 3,500 foot long section of the Old English Road Ditch to be recontsructed
conforms to the headwaters of the East Branch of Eighteenmile Creek. Portions of the
Old English Road Ditch are within the LP-7 Wetland, a class III wetland, and its
regulated 100 foot wide adjacent area. The ditch channel will be excavated/cleaned to
provide for better flow characteristics and ease of maintenance. Ditch banks will be
formed to a typical 1 on 3 side slope for mowing. Excavated spoil material, and larger
trees and brush will be deposited along the top banks of the ditch with occasional
openings to allow surface water to enter the ditch channel. Rubbish and debris will be
removed and disposed off site as necessary. The Old English Road Ditch is located in an
area northeast of Old English Road, and which is bounded on the north by East High
Street, on the east by Keck Road, on the south by Lincoln Avenue, and on the west by
Ernest Road.
