The action involves the rezoning of 434 acres from Agricultural - Residential District to Industrial Zone. The project is located on School Road, Town of Gainesville.

Positive Declaration and Public Scoping Session

Erie County - The Town of Amherst Town Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Muir Woods Multi-Use Development may have a significant adverse environmental impact and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. A public scoping session will be held on August 8, 2002 at 7:00 9:00 pm at the Amherst Municipal Building, 5583 Main Street, Williamsville, New York 14221. The project involves a proposed amendment to the Audubon Development Plan to reclassify 326 acres of land from New Community District Neighborhood District (NCD-ND) and Major Open Space (NCD-MOS) to New Community District General Commercial (NCD-GC), Restricted Industrial (NCD-RI) and Major Open Space (NCD-MOS) for the development of a multi-use development to include a 60 lot single-family residential subdivision, a 50 unit townhouse project, a 60 unit apartment development, and a 1.76 million sq. ft. commercial/office/research & development/ retail complex. The project is located at 1081 & 1121 North French Road, Amherst.
