Negative Declaration

Jefferson County - The Town of Hounsfield, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Local Law No. 1 of 2002 entitled "Amending Local Law No. 2 of the Year 1988, the Town of Hounsfield Zoning Law, as amended, to provide for an Arterial Corridor Protection Overlay District, Planned Development District, and other various amendments" will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves enactment of amendments to the existing Town of Hounsfield Zoning Law which: re-zones certain areas and creates a protective overlay zoning along the scenic highway corridor to help preserve its rural agrarian character; creates the ability to create Planned Development Districts within the Town: creates a process for review of Special Use Permit applications for uses so designated; modifies, deletes and adds definitions; adds or modifies certain uses within the existing districts with regard to the conditions under which they may be allowed; makes certain other concurrent related modifications to the law, all intended to allow for the controlled development of lands within the Town which will preserve and enhance the character of the Town for the protection and convenience of its inhabitants. The project is located in the Town of Hounsfield.
