Notice of Acceptance of Final EIS

Rensselaer County - The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Warren Fane Inc. Proposed Ward Bank. The applicant, Warren Fane Inc., proposes to mine sand and gravel from a 56.3 acre life of mine area on two parcels totaling approximately 214 acres in the Town of Schaghticoke. The operation will include an on-site wet processing plant (wash plant/settling pond system) and be conducted in five (5) phases over an estimated operational life of 10 to 15 years. The proposed project site is located on the north side of NYS Route 67, approximately one mile west of the intersection of NYS Route 67 and NYS Route 40 in the Town of Schaghticoke.
