Project Description: Project: In Bronx County, at the above address, transfer the subject permit
from USA
Waste Services of NYC, Inc. (a subsidiary of Waste Management, Inc.) to
Container Recycling Alliance, LP (another subsidiary of Waste Management,
Inc.). Renew permit for a five-year period. Convert the facility's currently
authorized throughput of 1,425 cubic yards a day (CYD) of paper and
cardboard to 1,425 CYD of plastic bottles and aluminum cans. Authorize the
applicant to receive incidental quantities of 10 tons per month of cardboard
associated with the packaging of such bottles and cans, but not authorize the
Applicant to receive more than 1,425 CYD of recyclables. Allow the
Applicant to eliminate the vehicle maintenance operations currently occurring
at the facility, thereby eliminating 224 daily vehicle-trips from the operation of
the facility.

millions gallons per day of dewatering discharge will be through existing storm drains to
Jamaica Bay at Vernam Basin.
