Project Description: In order to comply with
a Federal License, the applicant proposes to construct a diversion
channel, about 60 feet wide by 200 feet long, by removing approximately 900 cubic yards
of shale rock from the bed of the Mohawk River. The channel will redirect flows to
Branch 1, the branch of the Mohawk River west of Simmons Island, in the City of
Cohoes, Albany County, New York. Branch 1 does not currently receive adequate flows
of water to sustain aquatic life.
