Project Description: The applicant, Pembroke Sand and Gravel,
Inc., proposes to renew and modify their
current permit (MLR 8023-30-0466) to operate an existing 26.5 acre sand and gravel pit
on Creek Road in the Town of Batavia. The permit modification includes a reduction in
the Life of Mine area from 26.5 acres to 15.1 acres and the addition of screening and
crushing to the operation. This mine will operate as a traditional surface excavation of
sand and gravel using mechanical equipment, standard for this type of mining operation.
Mining is proposed to remove approximately 200,000 CY of aggregate sand and gravel
over the operational life of the mine. Materials will be not be mined from below the
water table nor is any work proposed within the wetland or adjacent area of Freshwater
Wetland BS-11. On-site processing will include screening and crushing at a rate not to
exceed 150 TPH. The area has been previously used for mining. Application materials
are available for public review and comment at the Regional Office of NYS DEC.

construct a 900 square foot 3- car garage and an inground
swimming pool with patio area. The pool and patio will comprise 1200 square feet and
are to be located within an area currently maintained as lawn. The gararge, inground pool
and patio are within the 300 foot adjacent area of the Class 1 - NYS Freshwater Wetland,
RE-1 (Class I), within Irondequoit Bay. The project site is on the east side of Bayshore
Blvd., with the access road being located approximately 2300 feet north of the
intersection of Bayshore Blvd. and Bay View Road. Application materials are available

Project Description: Seneca Meadows, Inc. has
applied to renew and modify the Mined Land Reclamation
Permit for the Seneca Meadows Borrow Pit located on Route 318, between Junius Ponds
and Grange Hall Road, in the Town of Junius. The modification includes adding a new 5
acre parcel just east of the existing mine to the Life of Mine, increasing the area to be
affected during the current permit term to 23.6 acres, and increasing the area to be
affected at any one time from 3 to 10 acres. The modification will result in an increase in
truck traffic to a total of 16 trucks per hour. The project will be protective of the
wetlands at Junius Ponds because the applicant will continue to maintain a minimum 5
foot separation from the water table. The file is available for review and comment at
NYSDEC Region 8.
