Public Notice

Region 7 - The Department of Environmental Conservation has determined that the Registry of Inactive Hazardous Waste Disposal Sites in New York State needs to be amended to delete site number 734056, known as the Fulton Iron and Steel Site. This site is located in the Village of East Syracuse, Town of DeWitt, in the County of Onondaga and is located at Burnet Avenue.

The reason for deletion is:

Written comments on this proposed deletion are welcome, and should be sent to: Project Manager: Reginald Parker, NYSDEC - Region 7, Division of Environmental Remediation, 615 Erie Boulevard West, Syracuse, NY 13204-2400.

All written comments must be received by August 3, 2002. A summary of all written comments will be assembled and a summary will be available for viewing at our Region 7 Headquarters in Syracuse, NY.

Negative Declaration

Cayuga County - The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed DEC Freshwater Wetland Permit for Duck Lake Association Herbicide Application to Control Milfoil will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the application of Navigate, an aquatic herbicide, to control Eurasian milfoil, on up to, approximately 54 acres, out of a total of 220 acres, on Duck Lake. A DEC Pesticide Permit has been obtained for its use. The project is located at Duck Lake, Conquest (T), Cayuga County.

Reaffirmation of Negative Declaration

Broome and Delaware Counties - Pursuant to the NYS Clean Water/Drinking Water State Revolving Fund and the State Environmental Quality Review Act, the Village of Deposit, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Deposit Water System Improvements will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves new groundwater source, new transmission, new storage and upgrade of distribution system. The project is located in the Village of Deposit, Broome and Delaware Counties.
