Negative Declaration

Hamilton County - The County of Hamilton, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed replacement of Algonquin Drive and Teachout Road Bridges will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. Notice of Acceptance of Draft Generic EIS and Public Hearing

Essex County - The Town Board of the Town of Essex, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Generic Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Adoption of Comprehensive Plan, Local Waterfront Revitalization Program, Zoning Law, Waterways and Harbor Management Law. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on June 25 and July 16, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. at Essex Fire Hall, Route 22, Essex, New York. Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted until July 27, 2002. The action is legislative and includes the adoption, by the Town Board of Essex, of a proposed Comprehensive Plan (entitled, "Essex New York, A Comprehensive Plan" and dated January 2001), the Town of Essex Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (dated January 2002), the Town of Essex Zoning Law (dated March 18, 2002), and the Town of Essex Waterways and Harbor Management Law (dated March 20, 2002). The adoption of the aforementioned plans and regulations actually constitute four separate legislative acts that are being considered together for purposes of SEQRA review since they are all interrelated. The action is Town-wide and thereby affects all land and water within the municipal boundaries of the Town of Essex. The Town of Essex is located on Lake Champlain within the Adirondack Park, in the County of Essex, New York.
