Greene County - The DEC, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed amendment to the final Unit Management Plan for North-South Lake Public Campground, approved in February 1998, will not have a significant environmental impact. The amendment involves re-wording Objective E, which calls for the replacement of seven bathrooms and construction of a new bathroom facility. The objective states that, "No trees will be cut to accommodate construction", and the amendment replaces that statement with, "Vegetation removal will be in keeping with department policy pertaining to protection of the forest vegetation on Forest Preserve Land (LF-92-2). Construction will involve site clearing, grading, and re-seeding." This action involves a total of 1 acre of land, located in the North-South Lake Public Campground, 2 miles northeast of Haines Falls on County Route 18.
