Project Description: The Fairport Central School
District has applied for permits to construct a new school
and associated athletic facilities on an approximately 90-acre site on Victor Road. The
site is located to the east, approximately 1000 feet south of the intersection of Victor
Road and Palmyra Road. Fill to construct the facility entrance will be placed in a section
of the regulated NYS DEC Freshwater Wetland (FWW) PR-2 (Class 1), and a portion of
the school building and parking lot constructed within the FWW PR-2 adjacent area. The
project has been designed to avoid and minimize wetland impacts to the greatest extent
practicable, and mitigation has been proposed to compensate for unavoidable impacts.
For the purposes of obtaining a Water Quality Certification, the applicant must
demonstrate compliance with the NYS DEC GP-93-06, SPDES General Permit For
Storm Water Discharges From Construction Activities. Application materials are
available for public review and comment at the NYS DEC Regional Headquarters.
