Project Description:
The applicant proposes to construct a portion of a stormwater detention basin and stormwater outfall within the 100-foot adjacent area of State-designated Freshwater Wetland PK-3 (Class II).  The project site is located on the west side of Salt Point Turnpike (NYS Route 115) opposite the intersection with Bedell Road.  Approximately 0.61 acres of the wetland 100-foot adjacent area will be disturbed by the construction of the stormwater basin and outfall.  The project also requires compliance with the State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System General Permit for Stormwater Discharges from Construction Activities.
State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Determination: Project is an Unlisted Action and will not have a significant impact on the environment. A Negative Declaration is on file. A coordinated review was not performed.
SEQR Lead Agency: None Designated
State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination: Cultural resource lists and map have been checked. No registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures were identified at the project location. No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.
Coastal Management: This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.
Opportunity for Public Comment: Comments on this project must be submitted in writing to the Contact Person no later than Jun 21 2002.

Project Description:
Trout Unlimited proposes to create a stable channel within a 900 foot section of Hazel Brook.  This new channel will improve a section of stream that has chronic sediment aggradation problems.  The purpose of the project is to improve fish passage and provide for improved spawning trout access to upper reaches of Hazel Brook.  The project site is located off Hazel Road on property owned by Phillip Vallone and is approximately 1000 feet upstream from the Willowemoc Creek.  In addition, Trout Unlimited proposes to create a spring fed tributary, approximately 250 feet in length with connection to Hazel Brook near the restored channel in order to improve stream flows.
