Pursuant to the Environmental Conservation Law, Sections 3-0301(2)(m) and 13-0360 the Department of Environmental Conservation hereby gives notice of the following:

Notice of Revised Rule Making of 6NYCRR Section 40.7 relating to the designation of a special management area off Fisher's Island in Suffolk County to protect natural and artificial reefs to be published in the New York State Register dated May 15, 2002.

Conditioned Negative Declaration

Nassau County - The West Hempstead-Hempstead Gardens Water District, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed New Public Supply Well and Replacement Elevated Water Tank will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. There will be a 30 day public comment period commencing on June 21, 2002. A public meeting will be held on May 23, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. at 575 Birch Street, West Hempstead, New York 11552. The action involves the construction of a new 1,200-gpm public supply well and 0.75 million gallon replacement elevated water storage tank at an existing Water District plant site. The existing tank has been determined to be at the end of its useful life and must be replaced to maintain available water capacity for the District. The project is located at 7th Street and Roxbury Road, West Hempstead.

Negative Declaration

Suffolk County - The Town of Southampton Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed CSS Southampton will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. A public scoping session will be held on June 13, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. at the Southampton Town Hall. The action involves a self-storage facility consisting of three (3) buildings to contain self-storage units and one building for office space with associated site improvements. The project is an undeveloped 3.76-acre parcel and is located within the Light Industry (LI-40) Zoning District. The project is located on the western end of Leecon Court, approximately 900 feet west of Magee Street, Tuckahoe in the Town of Southampton.
