The applicant proposes to construct a 22,300 square foot storage building to be used for storing concrete and steel sheilding materials used in the Alternate Gradient Synchrotron and Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) facilities, and drummed storage of water. These materials may contain low levels of radioactive elements and are currently stored outdoors.   The new facility will protect the materials from weathering and corrosion. The project is located at the Brookhaven National Laboratory near the RHIC ring, Upton, Town of Brookhaven, Suffolk County.

The applicant proposes to dredge a series of existing mosquito ditches within the tidal wetland in an attempt to improve tidal flow to the marsh and decrease the need for chemical vector control. In addition, some ditches will be extended and deepened to attempt to create fish reservoirs. Excavated material will be disposed of on site in an unvegetated area. Applicant proposes to cut an area of Phragmites australis in an effort to restore native high marsh habitat. Project is located at Orient Beach State Park, Southold.
