Negative Declaration

Otsego County - The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Site Preparation - Otsego RA#10; Stands A-52 and 54 will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves a herbicide reduction of ferns, non-commercial tree species and undesirable low valued tree species to promote the natural regeneration of desired tree species such as red oak and black cherry and the successful establishment of planted larch. Impact on public health is minimal. Personnel will be equipped with safety equipment. Also, following label instructions for the application will minimize risk. The project is located in the Town of Maryland.

Otsego County - The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Site Preparation - Otsego RA#13; Stands A-10, 12 and B-1 will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves a herbicide reduction of ferns, non-commercial tree species and undesirable low valued tree species to allow the natural regeneration of desired tree species such as sugar maple and black cherry. The action is to take place on 90 acres, presently occupied by stands of sugar maple, black cherry, and red maple.

Impact on public health is minimal. Personnel will be equipped with safety equipment. Also, following label instructions for the application will minimize risk. The project is located one and one half miles west of Decatur in the Town of Westford.

Notice of Acceptance of Final EIS

Albany County - The Albany Pine Bush Preserve Commission, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed updated 2002 Albany Pine Bush Preserve Management Plan. The action involves adoption and implementation of an update to the Albany Pine Bush Preserve Management Plan and FEIS (1993) and supplemental Albany Pine Bush Preserve Protection and Project Review Implementation Guidelines and FEIS (1996). The project is located in the City of Albany and Towns of Colonie and Guilderland in Albany County. Rensselaer County - The NYS Dept. of Environmental Conservation, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed R. J. Valente Gravel, Inc. Proposed Grafton Quarry Project Number 4-3826-00017/00003. The action involves the applicant, R.J. Valente Gravel, Inc., proposing to mine sand and rock from a 68.5 life of mine area, out of a 115 acre parcel. The operation involves blasting of minerals and the use of on-site processing equipment (crusher and screener). The project is located on the east side of NYS Route 2, south of the intersection of Camel Hill Road, in the hamlet of Quackenkill, Town of Grafton.
