Suffolk County - The NY Office of Mental Health, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Construction of a New Steam Plant at Pilgrim Psychiatric Center will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the construction of a 6,520 square foot addition to an existing building and the installation of five new steam generating boilers that will replace the existing steam plant. The project is located at 998 Crooked Hill Road, Town of Islip.

Suffolk County - The Central Pine Barrens Joint Planning and Policy Commission, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Central Pine Barrens Core Preservation Area hardship permit application for Amerada Hess may have a significant adverse environmental impact and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. The project involves requests for approvals for a change of zone from J-2 Business to J-2 and J-5 Business, and for plans to construct a gasoline filling station with four 10,000 gallon underground gasoline storage tanks, a canopy, pumps, convenience store, parking for fifteen cars, and associated infrastructure on 1.2 acres located in the Central Pine Barrens Core Preservation Area. The project is located on the southeast corner of NYS Route 495 (Long Island Expressway) and County Route 111, Manorville, Town of Brookhaven.

|Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS and Public Hearing|
Nassau County - The City of Glen Cove Planning Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Sea Isle Marina Properties Site Plan Review. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on April 16, 2002 at 8:00 p.m. at the Glen Cove City Hall, 9-13 Glen Street, Glen Cove, NY. The action involves the site plan approval for a 6.42 acre parcel to allow a 2.5 story apartment dwelling containing 36 two bedroom units. The site is in the Marine Waterfront 2 Zoning District, which permits residential development in accordance with zoning guidelines of the R-4 Residential District. Development is proposed under the City's Average Density Zoning provisions. The project is located on Shore Road along the south side of Glen Cove Creek and adjoins the City's western boundary and the Village of Sea Cliff.

Suffolk County - The Planning Board of the Town of Brookhaven, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Brookhaven Town Center. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on April 22, 2002 at 6:00 p.m. in the auditorium of Building 4, Brookhaven Town Offices, 3233 Route 112, Medford, NY. Comments on the Draft EIS are requested and will be accepted by the contact person until May 3, 2002. The action involves the construction of a regional shopping mall consisting of 1,043,350 sq. ft. of retail area and a 2,948-seat theater in two structures, totaling 1,293,000 sq. ft. with 5,264 parking spaces and an on-site recharge basin. Four anchor stores are included, with a free-standing auto center. Connection to the existing Dorade STP is proposed. The project is 150.14 acres in size. The project is located on the northwest corner of William Floyd Parkway and LIE, Town of Brookhaven.
