Project Description:
The applicant proposes to install a 4' diameter private water supply infiltration tile into a saturated gravel deposit and construct two irregularly shaped waterfowl nesting islands 30'-40' in diameter from pond excavation, in regulated freshwater wetland C-11, a 29 acre shrub swamp located approximately one-half mile north of the Village of Copenhagen on the west side of County Route 15 (Plank Road).
State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Determination: Project is an Unlisted Action and will not have a significant impact on the environment. A Negative Declaration is on file. A coordinated review was performed.
SEQR Lead Agency: NYS Department of Environmental Conservation
State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination: Cultural resource lists and map have been checked. No registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures were identified at the project location. No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.
Coastal Management: This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.
Opportunity for Public Comment: Comments on this project must be submitted in writing to the Contact Person no later than Apr 12 2002.

Project Description:
The applicant proposes to install four temporary sand bag cofferdams in the Little River to facilitate installation of a 4" river water intake and three 4" stream gauge sampling pipes, for a total temporary fill of 992.5 cubic yards.  The work is in conjunction with development of the University's Integrated Science Education Initiative, a field oriented science classroom and research center on the Little River Nature Area.
