Schoharie County - The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Clear-cut of Schoharie RA #3; Stands D-1, 11, 40 and 43 and Stand G-8 will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the removal of 56 acres of red pine, white pine and spruce which are 65 years old. The 56 acres of clear-cuts are in five separate stands scattered over the State Forest. The clear-cuts are necessitated by the loss of vigor and some mortality of the red pine due to shallow soils. The project is located four miles northwest of North Blenheim, Town of Blenheim.
