Rockland County - The Town Board, Town of Orangetown, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Local Law No. 1 of 2002, a local law amending Local Law No. 4 of 1969 (Chapter 43 of the Code of the Town of Orangetown entitled “Zoning”) will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the amendment to Chapter 43 of the Zoning Code of the Town of Orangetown, by the addition of an Article XIII, entitled “Overlay Zoning District”. The project is located within the District as delineated, i.e. said property or parcel touches Route 303 in the Town of Orangetown, County of Rockland, State of New York or has ingress or egress to Route 303 in the Town of Orangetown, County of Rockland, State of New York, as a result of a private road or easement. Such properties are specifically designated on the District Map available for viewing at the Town Clerk's office at 26 Orangeburg Road, Orangeburg, New York 10962, and made a part of Local Law No. 1 of 2002, and are described in Section 2.21 of the Zoning Code of the Town of Orangetown.

Conditioned Negative Declaration

Orange County - The Town of Wallkill Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Autumn Sky Three Lot Subdivision will not have a significant adverse environmental impact provided specific conditions are met. There will be a 30 day public comment period commencing with the date of this notice. The action involves an approximately 22.54 acre parcel being subdivided into three lots in the R1 Zoned District. The project is located on Fenung Street, Town of Wallkill.

The conditions include: 1) comply with technical review comments of McGoey, Hauser and Edsall dated January 30, 2002; 2) Verify property is not located within 500 ft. of a farm operation in an Agricultural District.

Sullivan County - The Town of Bethel Town Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Chapen Estates Residential Subdivision will have a significant adverse environmental impact and a Draft EIS will be prepared. The action involves a 49 lot residential subdivision with 48 building units on approximately 494 acres of land entirely within the Town of Bethel, Sullivan County. The subdivision is proposed with onsite septic systems and potable water wells. All lots are 5 acres or greater in size. The project is located on Pine Grove Road in the Town of Bethel, New York.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS and Public Hearing

Rockland County - The Village of Pomona Planning Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Halley Estates II Residential Subdivision. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on March 20, 2002 at 7:30 p.m. at the Village of Pomona Village Hall. The public comment period ends on March 30, 2002. The action involves the subdivision of a 66.3 acre property into 40 single-family lots in a R-40 zone with associated infrastructure, roadways and stormwater management facilities. The project is located on Camp Hill Road, Village of Pomona.

Notice of Acceptance of Final EIS

Orange County - The Town of New Windsor Planning Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Hannaford Food & Drug. The action involves the construction of a 55,200 sq. ft. food and drug store and related parking facilities; proposed parking and site access improvements at Monro Muffler and proposed site access improvements at Long John Silver's. The project is located near and around New York State Routes 32 and 94, Town of New Windsor.

Notice of Acceptance of Final Generic EIS

Westchester County - The Westchester County Board of Health, as lead agency has accepted a Final Generic Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Comprehensive Mosquito-Borne Disease Surveillance and Control Plan. The action involves adoption and implementation of a comprehensive plan to control the spread of mosquito-borne diseases in Westchester County. The plan includes: vector, vertebrate host, and human surveillance; medical provider and general public education and outreach, mosquito control, if warranted; and research and program evaluation. The project is located Westchester Countywide.
