Suffolk County - The State University of New York CF, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed rehabilitation of the Humanities Building will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves rehabilitation and construction of an addition to the existing Humanities Building. The project is located within the inner loop road on the main campus at State University of New York at Stony Brook.

Suffolk County - The Town Board of the Town of Riverhead, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed change of zone and special permit petitions of Crown Sanitation (Reliance Leasing Corp.) may have a significant adverse impact on the environmental and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. The action involves the alteration of a zoning of a 14 acre parcel currently zoned Agriculture A to Industrial B for the purpose of developing a recycling facility. The project is located on the north side of Youngs Avenue, approximately 1,200 ft. west of Osborne Avenue, Baiting Hollow, Riverhead Township.

Suffolk County - The Board of Education of the Bay Shore Union Free, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed additions and alterations at the existing Bay Shore High School. Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted until March 2, 2002 at 5:00 p.m. The action involves additions and alterations to the existing Bay Shore High School. This project specifically consists of new construction of choir room; new construction of academic/administrative wing; new construction of gymnasium complex with swimming pool; expansion and reconfiguration of parking areas; new elevator at field house and choir room; new elevator at administrative wing; miscellaneous interior reconstruction; improved acoustics at foreign language rooms; new classroom furniture; new computer technology (rewiring) at faculty conference space, graphic lab, music lab reconstruction, and new computer classroom; general furnishings and equipment; new casework at existing science classrooms; new science room casework; new Intel lab special casework/technology; new marine biology lab special casework; new science room exhaust/piping; acid waste storage tank for science classrooms; miscellaneous HVAC upgrades; new boiler room equipment; new fuel oil storage tank; new electric service; new water service/hydrant with RPZ; cafeteria courtyard improvements; provide new concessions, toilets and storage at football field; provide new athletic field lighting at three locations; demolish existing tennis courts and rebuild in new location; and establish temporary parking and storage area during construction. The project is located at 155 Third Avenue, Hamlet of Bay Shore, Town of Islip.

Suffolk County - The Riverhead Town Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Special Permit of The River Club. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on February 6, 2002 at 3:00 p.m. at the Riverhead Town Hall, Meeting Room, 200 Howell Avenue, Riverhead, New York. Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted until February 21, 2002. The action involves construction of a 222 unit condominium complex together with clubhouse, pool, tennis courts and dockage on approximately 55.1 acres of land. Suffolk County - The Planning Board of the Town of Brookhaven, as lead agency has accepted a Final Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Spring Meadow at Wading River. The action involves residential cluster development of a 59.36 acre parcel into 75-single family lots. The project is located on the south side of Route 25A, the west side of the Brookhaven Town/Riverhead Town border and on the northwest side of Brookhaven State Park in Wading River.
