Project Description:

Applicant proposes to place approximately 250 cubic yards of fill in the adjacent area of NYS Wetland CK-24 for the purpose of filling in depressions in the existing lawn area. The depressions to be filled are approximately 5" to 12" deep and will cover an area approximately 92' x 65'. The fill will be kept back 10' from the delineated wetland boundary. The fill will result in the creation of a level lawn that gently slopes toward the wetland. The site is located at 141 Water Street Road, Town of Livingston, Columbia County.

State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Determination: Project is an Unlisted Action and will not have a significant impact on the environment. A Negative Declaration is on file. A coordinated review was performed.
SEQR Lead Agency: NYS Department of Environmental Conservation
State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination: Cultural resource lists and map have been checked. No registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures were identified at the project location. No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.
Coastal Management: This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.
Opportunity for Public Comment: Comments on this project must be submitted in writing to the Contact Person no later than Feb 15 2002.

Project Description:

The applicant proposes to operate a new 3.7 +/- acre gravel mine. The mining site is highly disturbed due to previous mining activities by a former landowner. Remaining gravel will be excavated using a track hoe, bucket loader and/or a dredge line and the excavated material will be removed from the mine over existing haul roads on the Scotia Sand and Stone property which adjoins the rear of the site. Reclamation of the site will occur by grading it to stable slopes, covering these areas with topsoil and seeding with a grass mixture. The center of the property will become a 170 foot wide by 750 long by 25 foot deep pond. The site is located on the south side of Vley Road approximately 1 mile east of its intersection with NYS Route 5
