Project Description:

The applicant proposes to pave the north side of Church Lane to create additional parking on the south side of Church Lane, install 700 feet of fencing, dredge approximately 200 cubic yards of sediment from freshwater wetlands (Pine Lake), install 400 feet of gabion baskets landward of the wetland boundary to create a drainage swale, remove 30 feet of steel culvert and excavate to create a drainage swale, remove a sluiceway and concrete pad, cut two areas of phragmites and install a float for canoe access. The project is proposed within and adjacent to regulated freshwater wetland #MD-6, also known as Pine Lake in Middle Island, Town of Brookhaven, Suffolk County.
