Project Description:

The applicant has proposed to construct an 260' offset stacked armor stone retaining wall above the mean high water elevation of Lake Ontario, grade a section of the bluff, install a private stone steps to the beach, and construct a boulder wall at the top of the modified bluff, in order to stabilize an undercut and collapsing shoreline within a Coastal Erosion Natural Protective Feature area. The resultant bluff will be stabilized with jute mesh and an approved fescue grass mixture. This project approval is requested for the protection of an existing residential lot and is to be implemented prior to construction of a new residence. Application materials are available for public review and comment at the NYS DEC Regional Headquarters.
