Article 23 Title 27 Mined Land Reclamation |
| Project is Located: | Milton, Saratoga County | |
Project Description: Ronald Harrington has proposed to expand an existing unconsolidated materials (sand) mine. This mine was permitted in 1997 as 9 acre mine on a 50 acre property. The current application before the Department is for a 4.6 acre expansion. The land proposed for the expansion is contiguous to the currently permitted mine. Mining would be conducted in 1 phase; the duration of which would be approximately 5 years. Unconsolidated materials would be excavated from the mining face that will range from less than 5 feet high to a 20 foot maximum height. The average height of the mining face will be 10 feet. The proposed mine expansion will have no on-site processing of material. An existing 1000 foot haul road will be utilized to provide direct access to Rock City Falls Road (Saratoga County Route 49). The reclamation objective is to provide land for an expansion of the Rock City Falls Cemetery. A copy of the application is available for review at the NYS DEC office in Warrensburg. A copy of the Negative Declaration can be found at the following location www.dec.state.ny.us/website/enb2001/20011121/not5.html |
