Negative Declaration

Suffolk County - The State Education Department, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed land acquisition for the Islip Terrace Junior High School in the East Islip Union Free School District, SED Project No. 58-05-03-03-0-002-010, will not have a significant environmental impact. The action involves the purchase of 2.9 acres of land adjacent to existing property. The project is located on Redmen Street in the Town of Islip.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft Generic EIS and Public Hearing

Suffolk County - The Town of Southampton, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Generic EIS on the proposed Red Creek PDD CIPD. A public hearing on the Draft Generic EIS will be held on November 27, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. at the Southampton Town Hall, 116 Hampton Road, Southampton, NY 11968. The action involves the rezoning of an approximately 82 acre site from its existing CR-120 zoning to CIPD (Commercial Industrial Planned District), for the purpose of placing general and special trade contractor businesses and appropriate light industrial, service and/or utility uses in a central location. The roughly rectangular 82.06 acre site is located north of NYS Route 24 and south of Old Squires Road, adjacent to the western side of existing Town-owned landfill facilities and Red Creek Park. Hildreth Road, an unimproved dirt trail, traverses the site in a northwest-to-southeast direction in the Town of Southampton.

Suffolk County - The Town of Southampton, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Generic EIS on the proposed Westhampton Dragstrip Planned Development District (RPDD). A public hearing on the Draft Generic EIS will be held on November 27, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. at the Southampton Town Hall, 116 Hampton Road, Southampton, NY 11968. The action involves.the consideration of a proposed code amendment to rezone a 52+/-acre portion of a 66.1 +/- Residential Planned Development District (RPDD) upon its own motion covering the Westhampton Drag Strip. The RPDD encompasses up to 230 mixed residential senior citizen housing units, clubhouse, open space and various recreational amenities. The project encompasses 110 tax identification parcels, These parcels range in size from .1 acres to 143.2 acres and have a combined area of 756.9 acres. The majority of area study is located within the Compatible Growth Area of the New York Central Pine Barrens Land Use Plan and a 14-acre portion extends into the Core Preservation Area. Westhampton Drag Strip is located on Old Country Road between Summit Blvd. and Fifth Avenue (SCTM No. 900-329-1-12.1), Westhampton, Town of Southampton.
