Permit(s) Applied for: Article 17 Titles 7 & 8 Industrial SPDES
Project is Located: Lima, Multiple Counties
Project Description:

The Department has made the decision to modify the applicant's industrial SPDES permit for their limestone quarry and associated on-site processing plants. The modified permit will incorporate a second existing outfall, Outfall #2, which currently discharges groundwater and stormwater runoff. The modified permit also contains conditions that require the applicant to develop and implement a Best Management Practices (BMP) plan for stormwater runoff pollution prevention. Because the permit requires the BMP plan for stormwater runoff and the groundwater discharge is the result of infiltration into the mining operation area and is not considered to be contaminated, the permit does not contain discharge monitoring conditions for Outfall #2. A draft permit and fact sheet are available for review at the Region 8 Avon office.
