Negative Declaration

Rensselaer County - The State Education Department, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed land acquisition and addition/alterations for the Averill Park Middle School in the Averill Park Central School District, SED Project No. 49-13-02-06-0-009-003 will not have a significant environmental impact. The action involves the purchase of 8 acres of land adjacent to existing property and 40,000 square feet of new additions. The project is located on NYS Route 351 in the Town of Poestenkill.

The action involves the purchase of 15 acres of land adjacent to existing property and 20,000 square feet of new additions. The project is located on Gettle Road in the Town of Sand Lake.

Notice of Acceptance of Final Generic EIS

Schenectady County - The Town Board of the Town of Rotterdam, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Generic Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Town of Rotterdam Comprehensive Plan. The action involves preservation of the Town's character and identity, while allowing for environmentally sound growth and development. Highlights of the plan include the creation of a land conservation land use classification, the designation of Burdeck Street and the western portion of the Route 7 corridor for future economic development, and the reclassification of developed properties to reflect existing land use. The project is located townwide.

Revised Notice of Acceptance of Final EIS and Extension of Comment Period

Albany County - The State Education Department, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed land acquisition and construction of a new Middle School for the Albany City School District, SED Project No. 01-01-00-01-0-061-001. The public comment deadline was extended from October 15, 2001 to October 24, 2001, and additional comments were received. The action involves the purchase of 3.37 acres of land and 141,285 square feet of new construction. The project is located at Westland Hills Park, in the City of Albany.
