The Town of Caledonia proposes to create the Caledonia Water District #3 and to take for use therein a supply of water estimated to average 20,000 GPD from the Village of Avon’s Conesus Lake Source. The project includes the installation of 8,100 LF of 8" water main and appurtenances to serve a 50 unit mobile home park and approximately 16 residential and commercial units along NYS Route 5 & 20 from the Avon/Caledonia town line to River Road. The waterline will cross the Genesee River, via directional drilling method. The project will require an Article 15, Protection of Waters Permit, in addition to the Water Supply Permit. As part of a two lot subdivision the applicant proposes to collect stormwater from the upland lots and discharge it into an energy dissipation structure at the toe of a steep slope. The applicant also proposes to install a pedestrian walkway, 40 ft. floating dock, and gabion erosion control structure on Irondequoit Bay. The stormwater outfall, walkway, and dockage facility are within Freshwater Wetland RE-1 (I) or the associated 100 ft. adjacent area. The property is located at 50 Leedale Drive and extends west to Irondequoit Bay. The waterfront portion of the property is accessed by Avalon Trail.

The Department has made a tentative determination to approve this application for a new permit for a subsurface discharge of up to 30,000 gallons per day of treated sanitary effluent, associated with a proposed new mobile home park, Canalside Estates, to be located on Route 31, on Galloway Hill just south of the canal, in the Town of Palmyra. The new park will be constructed in two phases; Phase I will consist of 49 units and Phase II will consist of 50 units. The wastewater treatment system will consist of a series of septic tanks and seepage pits. The action was considered a Type I Action pursuant to SEQR and a Negative Declaration was issued by the Town of Palmyra on September 24, 2001. A draft permit is available for review and comment at the NYSDEC Region 8 Office.

The Town of Clarendon has applied to construct approximately 11,900 lineal feet of water main, and appurtenances, within the towns of Clarendon and Sweden, along Jackson and White Roads. The purpose of the main will be to allow the Town of Clarendon to become a direct wholesale customer of the Monroe County Water Authority. A new water district will be formed along White Road under a separate application. The water main will cross NYS Freshwater Wetland SW-4; erosion control measures will be installed to minimize impacts to the wetland.
