Project Name: Louis R. McArthur, Jr.
Location: south side of County Route 10, Saratoga County
Comment Period Ends: November 1, 2001
Project Description: The action involves a commercial use and group camp known as "McArthur Park" consisting of use of the property for a fee to hold occasional "Wilderness Weddings" and use of cabins without a fee by Make A Wish Foundation clients. It is estimated that 5-10 outdoor, weddings would be held annually with an occasional on-site reception utilizing a natural waterfall setting and existing pavilion. No more than 200 persons would be in attendance at these events. Two existing cabins would be used at other times, without charge, by terminally ill children and their families as part of the applicant’s participation in Make A Wish Foundation. Fees generated by wedding event rentals would be used to partially offset costs associated with the Make A Wish Foundation operation. On-site parking, wastewater treatment and water supply facilities would serve both project components.
