The applicant proposes to construct and operate the Bethlehem Energy Center, a gas-fired combined cycle power generation facility on the site of an existing power generating facility, the Albany Steam Station, on State Route 144 in Glenmont, Town of Bethlehem, Albany County. The project was originally noticed in the September 5, 2001 ENB. The public hearing on this application has been rescheduled. The legislative public hearing will now be held on December 3, 2001, at the Bethlehem Town Hall, 445 Delaware Ave, Delmar, NY. The issues conference will begin on December 12, 2001, at the NYS Department of Public Service, Agency Building 3, 3rd floor, Empire State Plaza, Albany, NY. The comment period on the applications is also extended until December 3, 2001. These changes do not affect the Notice of Determination to Issue a Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD) Permit which was published in the September 5, 2001 ENB. That comment period will close on October 22, 2001.

Schenectady County - The Town Board of the Town of Niskayuna, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed amendment to the zoning map of the Town of Niskayuna will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the rezoning of 12 parcels located in northwest Niskayuna on Balltown, River and Zenner Roads from R-2 Medium Density Residential to R-P: Residential/Professional, and the rezoning of one parcel located on Providence Avenue from R-2: Medium Density Residential to R-3: High Density Residential.

|Notice of Acceptance of Final Generic EIS|
Schenectady County - The Town of Rotterdam, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Generic Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Town of Rotterdam Comprehensive Plan. The action involves the creation of a land conservation land use classification, the designation of Burdeck Street and the western portion of the Route 7 corridor for future economic development, and the reclassification of developed properties to reflect existing land use.

|Notice of Acceptance of Final EIS|
Albany County - The State Education Department, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed land acquisition and construction of a new Middle School for the Albany City School District, SED Project No. 01-01-00-01-0-061-001. Comments on the Final EIS will be accepted by the contact person until October 15, 2001. The action involves the purchase of 3.37 acres of land and 141,285 square feet of new construction. The project is located at Westland Hills Park in the City of Albany.
