Project Description: The applicant proposes to reconstruct a portion of Sumpwams Creek which was widened during the construction of the Village of Babylon Golf Course. The project encompasses a section of the creek approximately 900' long. In order to return the stream to its original 20' width, areas of the freshwater wetland will be filled with a total of 1000 cubic yards of clean fill. The resulting stream bottom will be dredged to increase the typical depth from 2' to 4' by removing 600 cubic yards of material including broken concrete, vegetation, and debris. The purpose of this project is to restore normal flow in the stream and to create an area adjacent to the stream which will promote the growth of wetland vegetation. Project Description: The applicant proposes to remove the existing asphalt driveway and resurface a portion with gravel and the remainder with masonry pavers, install a 16' x 32' swimming pool, and extend the existing wood deck. Approximately 45 cubic yards of excavated soil from the pool installation will be graded along the south side of the pool deck to create a berm. The berm will be planted with native species and 18-20 boulders with a minimum weight of 500 lb. per stone will be randonly placed. The pool/deck are proposed within 20 ft. of the tidal wetland boundary and the applicant has requested a variance from the required 75 ft. structure setback. Existing lot coverage by impervious structures is 43% and the applicant proposes to reduce the lot coverage to 35%. Project Description: The Department has drafted a permit pursuant to Article 19 (Air Pollution Control) of the NYS Environmental Conservation Law (ECL) and Title V of Federal Clean Air Amendments and made a tentative determination to approve this application for the applicant's landfill facility. The sources subject to the Title V requirements consist of a closed and capped municipal solid waste landfill, a closed and capped ash monofill, and an active construction and demolition landfill. The application, draft permit, and relevant supporting materials and regulations are available for review during normal business hours at the Regional DEC office provided in this notice. Comments of support or objection may be made by filing a written statement by the deadline date indicated. NYSDEC may schedule a public hearing cased upon an evaluation of the nature and scope of any written objection raised. Hearing notices will contain instructions on filing for party status and submitting comments.
