Albany County - The State Education Department, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed land acquisition and construction of a new Elementary School as a replacement to the existing Public School 18 for the Albany City School District, SED Project No. 01-01-00-01-0-059-001, will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the purchase of 0.057 acres of land adjacent to existing property and 58,840 square feet of new construction. The project is located at 43 Bertha Street in the City of Albany.

Albany County - The State Education Department, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed land acquisition and construction of a new elementary school "PSES B" for the Albany City School District, SED Project No. 01-01-00-01-0-057-001, will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the purchase of 0.1.62 acres of land and 58,840 square feet of new construction. The project is located at 400 Sheridan Avenue in the City of Albany.

Saratoga (Town and Village of Waterford only), Rensselaer, Albany, Columbia, Greene, Dutchess, Ulster, Putnam, Orange, Westchester, and Rockland Counties - The joint boards of the Hudson River Valley Greenway Communities Council and the Greenway Conservancy for the Hudson River Valley, Inc., as lead agencies, have determined that the proposed Management Plan for the Hudson River Valley National Heritage Area will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves approval of the Management Plan for the Hudson River Valley National Heritage Area, which recommends a broad outline for the preservation and interpretation of the history of the Valley and its role in the development of the nation. There are no plans for any specific construction projects or land purchases in the Management Plan. The Hudson River Valley National Heritage Area is comprised of the Counties of Saratoga (Town and Village of Waterford only), Rensselaer, Albany, Columbia, Greene, Dutchess, Ulster, Putnam, Orange, Westchester and Rockland, except those cities, villages and towns located within the 22nd Congressional District whose local governments do not resolve to be included in the Area.

Albany County - The State Education Department, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed land acquisition and construction of a new elementary school "PSES A" for the Albany City School District, SED Project No. 01-01-00-01-0-056-001, will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the purchase of 0.4 acres of land and 59,000 square feet of new construction. The project is located at 666 Clinton Avenue in the City of Albany.

Negative Declaration and Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS

Rensselaer County - The State Education Department, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed land acquisition and addition/alterations for the Averill Park High School in the Averill Park Central School District, SED Project No. 49-13-02-06-0-001-004 will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The lead agency has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement. Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted until October 16, 2001. The action involves the purchase of 15 acres of land adjacent to existing property and 20,000 square feet of new additions. The project is located on Gettle Road in the Town of Sand Lake.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS

Rensselaer County - The State Education Department, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed land acquisition and addition/alterations for the Averill Park Middle School in the Averill Park Central School District, SED Project No. 49-13-02-06-0-009-003. The action involves the purchase of 8 acres of land adjacent to existing property and 40,000 square feet of new additions. The project is located on NYS Route 351 in the Town of Poestenkill.
