Project Description: The Department has tentatively determined to modify the existing 6 NYCRR Part 373 (Hazardous Waste Management) Permit for redesign of the Residual Management Unit - One (RMU-1) East Stormwater Retention Basin (ESRB) and associated flood storage volume requirements. The specific changes include: (1) a reduction in the designed ESRB's total storm water storage capacity from 11.928 acre-feet to 9.882 acre-feet; (2) a change to the shape of the ESRB and a reduction in the size of the land area occupied by the ESRB from about 3.9 acres to 2.5 acres; (3) the addition of an internal separation berm in the ESRB design and upgrades to the ESRB outlet controls to improve the settling of sediment and to reduce the amount of sediment in the storm water discharged from the ESRB; and (4) a reduction in the additional Twelve Mile Creek flood storage volume necessary for construction of the ESRB from 16.0 acre-feet to 3.1 acre-feet. The ESRB receives storm water runoff from covered areas of the RMU-1 landfill, which is located at 1550 Balmer Road. |

Project Description: The applicants propose to regrade approximately 200 feet of shoreline bluff at their property on Lake Ontario. A 200 foot armor stone revetment is proposed for the base of the area that is reshaped. An existing swale which carries surface water down the bluff would be protected from erosion with a bedding fabric and stone. Rip rap, historically protected an additional 125 feet of shoreline but is currently in a state of disrepair. The rip rap in this section of the property will be pulled landward and the revetment rebuilt with additional stone added as needed. The project site is located at 651 Lake Road. |
