As part of a water system improvement project, Town of Crown Point proposes to replace an existing spring source of supply with a new groundwater supply, to meet current NYS Department of Health regulations. The project involves installation of two groundwater production wells at the Fish Hatchery Well Source site, taking up to 300 gallons per minute. The site is located south of the Essex County Fish Hatchery, east of Factoryville Road near Crown Point Center.

The South Ti Sand & Gravel Pit, located on Rt 9N, in the Town of Ticonderoga, is owned by Randy and Barabara Perkins. The applicant, Patrick Armstrong, proposes to expand the depth of the existing mine by 10 feet, and the surface area by .84 acres; approximately 75 ft west of the current life of mine limit. Three new groundwater monitoring wells will be installed to the west, down- gradient of the pit. The floor of the mine will remain 10 feet above the water table. The Adirondack Park Agency is reviewing this project under APA # 98-72.

The applicant is requesting Water Quality Certification as a prerequisite to relicensing the E.J. West Project, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Project No. 2318. The E.J. West Project is a 20 megawatt hydroelectric facility located on the Conklingville Dam at the outlet of Great Sacandaga Lake.

The Department has prepared a draft Water Quality Certificate and made a tentative determination to approve the request for Water Quality Certification. The application and draft Water Quality Certificate incorporate the Upper Hudson/Sacandaga River Offer of Settlement ("Settlement") developed by the cooperative relicensing team that met from 1996 through 1999 to address resource/water quality issues associated with the project. (The comprehensive Settlement resolves resource/water quality issues at the E.J. West Project and 3 other hydroelectric projects located on the Sacandaga and Upper Hudson rivers.) The draft certification for the E.J. West Project includes requirements for fish protection.

The Water Quality Certification will remain in force for the duration of the FERC license.

The Town of Malta is proposing to install two 24 inch culverts in freshwater wetland R-1 (class II).

The applicant is requesting Water Quality Certification as a prerequisite to relicensing the Feeder Dam Project, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Project No.2554. The Feeder Dam Project is an existing 6 megawatt hydroelectric facility located on the Hudson River at mile 203.

The Department has prepared a draft Water Quality Certificate and made a tentative determination to approve the request for Water Quality Certification. The application and draft Water Quality Certificate incorporate the Upper Hudson/Sacandaga River Offer of Settlement ("Settlement") developed by the cooperative relicensing team that met from 1996 through 1999 to address resource/water quality issues associated with the project. (The comprehensive Settlement resolves resource/water quality issues at the Feeder Dam Project and 3 other hydroelectric Projects located on the Sacandaga and Upper Hudson rivers.) Provisions of the draft certification include a minimum base flow requirement, restrictions on impoundment fluctuations and fish protection structures.

The Water Quality Certification will remain in force for the duration of the FERC license.

The Hudson River Project is an existing 80 megawatt (approximately) hydroelectric project consisting of the Spier Falls and Sherman Island facilities.

The Department has prepared a draft Water Quality Certificate and made a tentative determination to approve the request for Water Quality Certification. The application and draft Water Quality Certificate incorporate the Upper Hudson/Sacandaga River Offer of Settlement ("Settlement") developed by the cooperative relicensing team that met from 1996 through 1999 to address resource/water quality issues associated with the project. (The comprehensive Settlement resolves resource/water quality issues at the Hudson River Project and 3 other hydroelectric Projects located on the Sacandaga and Upper Hudson rivers.) Provisions of the draft certification include bypass flow requirements, restrictions on fluctuations within two impoundments and fish protection structures.

The Water Quality Certification will remain in force for the duration of the FERC license.
