Negative Declaration

Suffolk County - The State Education Department, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed land acquisition for the East Hampton Union Free School District, SED Project No. 58-03-01-02-0-006-013, will not have a significant environmental impact. The action involves the purchase of 34.5 acres of land. The project is located on Long Lane in East Hampton, New York.

Suffolk County - The State Education Department, as lead agency, has determined that the Supplemental EIS on the proposed additions/alterations to the Peirson High School in the Sag Harbor Union Free School District, SED Project No. 58-03-05-02-0-001-012, will not have a significant environmental impact. The project involves the construction of a 49, 300 SF multi-story compact classroom addition and a separate 12,120 SF gymnasium/locker room addition to the existing Middle School wing at the Pierson High School Facility. A 1,600 SF maintenance-storage building will be located on Montauk Avenue. The construction will occur on the southern portion of the high school and middle school, around the existing auditorium and off the Middle School wing. The completed project will take up 3.4 acres, leaving approximately 66% of the existing 9.6-acre site as playfields and open space. The project is located on Jermain Avenue in the Town of East Hampton.

Suffolk County - The Huntington Town Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Silver Huntington Realty, LLC zoning change application (#2001-ZM-334) will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. A Public Hearing will be held on September 25, 2001 at 7:00 p.m. at the Huntington Town Hall, 100 Main Street, Huntington, NY 11743. The action involves a change of zone for property located on the south side of Jericho Turnpike, Huntington Station into two different zoning classifications: 2.65 acres from R-5 Residence District to C-6 General Business District, designated as parcels 0400-198-03-065, 066, p/o 062, 063 and 064 on the Suffolk County Tax Map and 3.48 acres from R-5 Residence District and C-6 General Business District to C-10 Planned Motel District, designated as parcels 0400-198-03-004.1, 005, 006, 007, 008, 010 and 014 on the Suffolk County Tax Map. The overall site is currently zoned C-6 General Business District (12 acres) and R-5 Residence District (5.56 acres). This application proposes to add a hotel to the Huntington Townhouse catering hall. The hotel would be built on an existing parking area (the zone change to C-10), which would necessitate the development of more land for parking (the zone change to C-6). The parking lot expansion is located on the west side of Ackerly Court (a.k.a. Iceland Drive). It will allow an increase of 77 parking spaces on that part of the property. The 4-story, 230-room hotel will be built on the east side of the catering hall. The project is located on the south side of Jericho Turnpike, east of NYS Route 110, in Huntington Station.

Suffolk County - The Town of Shelter Island Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Subdivision Map of H.O.C. Investments, L.L.C. will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the subdivision of a 16.231 acre parcel into a six lot, reduced density subdivision. Current zoning (A- Residence) permits up to twelve lots. The proposed lots range in size from 48,500 sq. ft. to 327,125 sq. ft. with an average of 136,163 sq. ft. Said parcel is located southerly side of Shorewood Road/Apple Orchard Lane and the westerly side of Osprey Road and contains approximately 1,700 feet of frontage on West Neck Bay and Shelter Island Sound.

Suffolk County - The Town of Riverhead Town Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Change of Zone and Special Permit Petitions - Mid Road Properties will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves a change of zone of a 77.6 acre parcel from Agriculture A to Residence RC and as a result, to construct a 126 unit retirement community condominium complex which use requires a special permit. The project is located on the north side of Middle Road, approximately 250 feet west of Mill Road, Town of Riverhead.

Suffolk County - The Town of Huntington Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Stone Ridge at Dix Hills will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the construction of a Planned Retirement Community condominium complex with 88 dwelling units, a community building and recreational areas including a swimming pool and jogging trail, an on-site Sewage Treatment Plant, and required off-street parking and landscaped buffers on an approximate 12-acre parcel within an R-RM Retirement Community zone district. The project is located on the east side of Deer Park Avenue (NYS Rte 231), opposite Ryder Avenue in Dix Hills, within the Town of Huntington.

Amended Notice of Acceptance of Final EIS

Suffolk County - The Town of Riverhead Town Board, as lead agency, has accepted an Amended Final EIS on the proposed Special Permit and Site Plan of Headriver, LLC. Written comments on the Final EIS are requested and must be received by the contact person on or before 5:00 p.m. on September 20, 2001. The action involves the construction of a 135,200 sq. ft. lumberyard facility on a 21.2 acre site with required parking, access roads and other site improvements. Additional sales/display areas exterior to the building totaling 38,800 square feet are also proposed. The project is located north of Old Country Road (CR 58), at and just west of the northerly terminus of Kroemer Avenue, Riverhead.
