Project Description:

The applicant proposes to dredge a 10' x 53' area in Parsonage Canal to a depth of 4' below mean low water. The area to be dredged is adjacent to a bulkhead which runs the width of the applicant's property. The 53' of existing bulkhead is proposed to be removed and replaced 12" higher than the original. Fifty-three feet of 6' wide boardwalk is proposed to be installed immediately landward of the bulkhead. The existing ramp and float will be relocated 12' north of the present location, and four new mooring piles will be added in the vicinity of the float. The proposed project is located at 2698 Belcher Court in the Village of Baldwin, town of Hempstead in Nassau County, NCTM# 54-219-450.

Applicant proposes to reconstruct in place 620' of existing bulkhead on the east side of the boat basin and 140 feet along the northwest portion of the marina. Remove an existing 65' pier and piles and construct a new groin pier 184 feet long with a 45' north west portion in an "L" shape formation. New piles will be driven to create 11 slips for vessel docking . Remove and replace an existing "L" shaped pier (248') on the west side of the boat basin with 470 cubic yards of clean fill to be brought to the site to be utilized landward of the bulkhead. The project is located on Great South Bay, Fire Island Pines, Town of Brookhaven.
