Project Description: The applicant proposes to install approximately 900 feet of steel sheet pile bulkhead in front of a deteriorating concrete retaining wall on the bank of the Niagara River. The existing concrete retaining wall is a safety hazard and public nuisance. Armor stone would be placed in front of the new bulkhead and serve as toe protection for the new wall. The work site is located adjacent to the River Walk Bike Path, immediately upstream of the confluence of the Niagara River and the Erie Barge Canal across the channel from Tonawanda Island. |
