Project Description: The Department has made a tentative determination to approve this application for a new permit for a groundwater discharge of 150 gallons per day (gpd) of sanitary wastewater (Outfall 001) and a surface discharge of 250 gpd of treated industrial wastewater from an oil/water separator (Outfall 002) into an unnamed tributary of Lake Washington, Class A, via overland flow to a municipal storm drain from vehicle maintenance operations at the Newburgh Maintenance Facility. No vehicle washing with detergent is performed at this site; detergent will not be discharged. The project involves installation of a grit separator and an oil/water separator, and the closure of two dry wells. The Department has made the determination to deny the applicant's request for waiver from the Discharge Notification Act (DNA) sign requirement. The Orange County DPW Newburgh Maintenance Facility is located on the west side of Union Avenue (NYS Route 300), 2000 feet north of NYS Route 207 and adjacent to the NYS Thruway in the Town of New Windsor, Orange County. A draft permit is available for inspection and comment at the regional office. |

Project Description: Applicant proposes the installation of stacked rock retaining wall at two separate locations on the north bank of the Little Beaverkill (180 feet at the Kleinberger property and 45 feet at the Caltabellotta property).
