Project Description: The applicant proposes to develop and operate a new 2.2 acre unconsolidated sand and gravel pit using mechanized equipment and methods standard for the surface extraction of these materials. On-site processing will include screening at a rate not to exceed 150 tons per hour. The Life of Mine area is 2.2 acres. Material will be mined from above grade only, no mining will occur below the water table. The mine is located on Kelsey Road in the Town of Batavia. Reclamation will return the site to green space. This project is a part of the remediation effort for the old Batavia Landfill. Application materials are available for public review and comment at the Regional Office of NYS DEC. |

Project Description: The applicant has applied for an Article 15 Stream Disturbance permit to replace the culvert which conveys Bradner Creek under McNinch Road. The existing 60" culvert will be replaced with two 60" culverts to accommodate greater flow volumes. Approximately 490 cubic yards of deposited bed material will be removed from approximately 700' of the stream bed. The stream bed will be shaped into a "V" shape, and one culvert will be placed at a lower elevation, to accommodate low flow volumes.
