Albany County - The Town of Colonie Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed NYSUT Offices will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves construction of an approximately 167,100 sq. ft. office building addition and related facilities, and change in use of an existing 50,900 sq. ft. retail store to office use. The subject parcel is located at 800 Troy Schenectady Road in the Town of Colonie.

Negative Declaration

Broome, Chenango and Delaware Counties - The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Adoption of the Treaty Line Unit Management Plan will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the adoption of the Treaty Line Unit Management Plan which sets forth the proposed goals, objectives, management actions and associated costs for 17,626 acres of the state forests. The plan details all proposed activities for a 20 year period, dating from the time of approval and adoption. A review and update will take place at the end of the tenth year. Public input has been sought and full consideration of this input has been given to the completion of this final draft plan.

General management activities planned for the unit include: boundary line surveys and maintenance, forest inventory, wood products harvesting and stand improvement cuts, site preparation and reforestation, maintenance of grass and brush land, enhanced wildlife habitat practices, conditioned oil and gas exploration, law enforcement and fire detection and suppression programs, reconstruction and upgrading of some forest roads, construction of parking pull-offs and installation of motor vehicle barriers, maintenance of public forest access roads, parking areas and borrow pits, acquisition through fee simple title or easement connecting properties or inholdings to enhance public access and land management goals, developing a public use brochure, and maintaining and enhancing existing recreational trails. The 10-state forests are located in: the Town of North Sanford, Broome County, the Town of Afton, Chenango County; and the Towns of Deposit, Masonville and Tompkins, Delaware County. The unit is located north of the Village of Deposit, and south of the Hamlet of Masonville and is bisected by NYS Route 8.

Schenectady County - The Town Board of the Town of Niskayuna, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Kindercare Learning Centers, Inc. will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the construction of a single story 10,563 sq. ft. day care facility on 2 acres with parking and landscaping. The project is located at 1440 Balltown Road, Town of Niskayuna.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS and Public Hearing

Albany County - The State Education Department, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft EIS on the proposed land acquisition and construction of a new elementary school "PSES B" for the Albany City School District, SED Project No. 01-01-00-01-0-057-001. Comments are requested on the Draft EIS and will be accepted by the contact person until August 20, 2001. The action involves the purchase of 0.1.62 acres of land and 58,840 square feet of new construction. The project is located at 400 Sheridan Avenue, in the City of Albany.
