Project Description: The applicant proposes to develop and operate an unconsolidated sand and gravel mine. The mine will operate as a traditional surface extraction of sand and gravel by mechanized equipment standard for these types of mining operations. Materials will be processed by screening at a maximum rate of 46-48 TPH. No mining will occur below the local water table. Final reclamation will return the mine to idle wild land/open space. The Life of Mine area is 6 acres and an estimated 216,000 tons of materials will be removed from the site over its operational life. The mine is located on Robinson Road in the Town of Sodus, Wayne County. Application materials are available for public review and comment at the Regional Office of NYS DEC. |
