Project Description: The applicant proposes the drilling of a 24" directionally drilled production well through the ground surface, seawall and finally into the aquifer underlying the Hudson River in the Town of Bethlehem to perform a pump test on a potential ground water source. Site disturbance will will be limited to a 1,000 square feet and involve limited clearing of small trees and brush to allow temporary access by drilling equipment in an area determined to be NYS Freshwater Wetland, located south of the existing wastewater treatment facility. Permanent wetland disturbance will be limited to a 100 square feet area surrounding the well casing origin. |

Project Description: The applicant proposes to stabilize a section of streambank of Halsey Brook that has been severely undercut as a result of high flows. The stream bank area to be stabilized is approximately 180 feet long and 7-10 feet in height. The project involves shaping the bank, placing gravel from a high flow channel on the bank and covering it with heavy stone rip rap. Willow fascines and live stake plantings are proposed as a bio-engineering component of the project. The project is located on Griffin Road just north of the intersection with County Route 78. |
